Why Barnato blogs

I have been asked several times. So here are my reasons. In no particular order.

  • Let’s be honest. It’s exciting to know that posts are read by several hundred people.
  • I want to capture ideas. I could write a book but the publishing thing is tedious.
  • I like the fact that a blog posting is easy to update and to link.
  • I can keep posts short. (It’s not easy if you have come from wordy professions).
  • I want to experiment. And yes if you put the word “sex” in the title, (as I have done twice, but in the best possible taste) the number of readers jumps immediately.
  • I enjoy working in a digital world, having started in an analogue one.
  • I want to collaborate and share.

I like:

  • Jeffery Deaver’s new novel - ”Roadside crosses”.  It’s good. And it’s set around blogging.
  • This quote on collaboration taken from a recent advertisement. “An idea is good. An idea amplified by information, expertise and additional ideas is even better.”
  • This description of the internet. “Where England footballers fail to put the ball.”
